The return of the Lord Jesus for His own.

Hymn number 31, included in the following editions, 1951, 1962, 1973, 2001.
Cosido, M., Spanish (Argentina), 12.11.12.11. [6.6.6.5.6.6.6.5.]
1

A while, yes, a very short while now of waiting,
Heb 10.37  For yet a little while, and he that shall come will come, and will not tarry
And then will our Lord come to call us away;
1Thess 4.16  the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout
With prayer and with fasting then let us be watching,
1Cor 7.5  give yourselves to fasting and prayer
For-well do we know it-He will not delay.
2Pe 3:9   The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

2

With voice of archangel, from heaven descending,
1Thess 4.16    with a shout, with the voice of the archangel
With great acclamation and trumpet of God,
1Thess 4.16  and with the trump of God
To us shall the One whom our hearts are awaiting,
1Cor 1.7  waiting for the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ
That very same Jesus appear on the cloud.
Acts 1.11  this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven

3

We know that the saints who in Christ have been sleeping,
1Thess 4.16  the dead in Christ shall rise first
By God's mighty power from sleep shall awake;
John 5,25  The hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God: and they that hear shall live.
We shall not before them be caught up to heaven,
1Thess 4.17  we which are alive and remain shall be caught up
But Christ all His loved ones together shall take.
1Thess 4.17    together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord

Revealed to our sight in Thy glorious descending,
John 16.22  I will see you again, and your heart shall rejoice,
Lord Jesus, Thou shalt to Thy lovers appear;
2Tim 4.8  unto all them also that love his appearing
And then shalt Thou take us to heaven rejoicing,
Isa 51.11  the redeemed of the LORD shall return, and come with singing unto Zion; and everlasting joy shall be upon their head
Eternally with Thee Thy glories to share.
1Thess 4.17  so shall we ever be with the Lord.
